Steel structures

Steel structures

Steel is the most widely used construction material today. It is the basic material of steel structures, it is used to strengthen concrete structures (reinforced concrete), make pipelines, construct halls, bridges, tanks, etc. Structural steel has been used for a long time, which means that the technology of its production is refined, as well as the behavior of this material in the buildings used has been known. Steel has a very high compressive and tensile strength. However, it is often believed that the disadvantage is its weight, but if we take into account its strength, it turns out that its ratio to weight puts steel on the podium in terms of low weight in relation to the strength of the structure obtained in this way.

Structure assembly and immediate use

One of the greatest advantages of steel structures is that they can be used immediately after assembly. No additional time is necessary to obtain the appropriate strength or durability, as is the case with concrete or reinforced concrete structures. Work on the assembly of these structures can be carried out in virtually all conditions, regardless of weather and temperature. Very often, structural elements are made to order and assembly does not result in wasting material in the form of waste. For larger projects for the assembly of steel structures, due to their dimensions and weight, it will be necessary to use specialized heavy construction equipment and qualified employees. For our company Kobesport it is not a problem, because thanks to the appropriate fleet of construction machines and specialists, we have already completed many such tasks.

Defects of steel structures.

Despite the many advantages of this material, its disadvantages should also be mentioned. These include susceptibility to corrosion and the aforementioned weight. Therefore, it should be remembered that the structure should be well protected against corrosion at the initial stage of assembly. Additionally, periodic inspections and maintenance of such structures should be carried out, and any defects in protective coatings should be repaired as soon as possible. It should also be taken into account that steel does not withstand the high temperatures that may arise during a fire. So pay attention to this when designing.

Kobesport - Professional assembly of steel structures.

Our company builds steel structures. We have specialized equipment as well as qualified employees. We offer assembly and welding services. In addition to assembly, we also make ready-made structural elements to order. We carry out the works comprehensively, including site preparation and finishing works.
